Not Sure If Would Be Another Infiniti

Ok, I am just venting here...but, I love driving my G. However, I just feel that I was sold an expensive lemon. My car died on me again on Saturday and this is the fourth or fifth time I had to goto the dealership for repairs in 21 months. I do all the maintenance and take pretty good care of my car.

Now, I have to sit and ponder hoping the dealership doesn't try to screw me over...everything is pretty much stock except a pop charger and aftermarket amp and speakers.

No, I live in Florida.

However, they are trying to screw me over!

They said that the IPD Relay or computer not really sure what she is talking about I have to go over there and look at it. But, I can tell she is already bullsh1tting me. She said that the power wire for my Amp that goes through the firewall caused it to get all corroded. That also whoever installed it for me relocated some wires that voids my warranty.

That is a bunch of crap because I know what was done to my car. The power wire was ran through the grommet on the passenger side then sealed with sealant. I then asked her where this item was located and the tech told her next to the battery. WTF? How does that effect something next to the battery. I am going to go down there later and have the tech point out everything they say is wrong with it.

They want ~800.00 to fix this...

If they want you to look at it, they might be telling the truth. If so you are screwed. I dont want to do anything to screw with my warranty, my car cost alot as it is.

Ok, well I had to argue with three people, but they are going to cover it under warranty.

I am not going to name the dealership yet...until they fix all the work. But, needless to say I will never go back to them and would recommend no one else either.

I did some searching from the information I was provided before I went down there. This site helped a lot...turns out my IPDM had suffered a lot of water damage. They brought up every possible reason to try not cover it under warranty.

The first thing they said was my AMP wire...they told me over the phone someone moved the wire harness. This was untrue so the fact they lied to me pissed me off to begin with. I fought that and then said it is impossible for a wire to cause water damage to an enclosed box. Then they said you do not have the factory battery. Again, I said if you switch the batteries in a flash light from Energizer to Duracell does that stop it from working. Then I had a different ground wire on and they brought that up. Well that ground wire sucks and was not holding a good connection to the battery so I changed it out.

Then the technician said that the IPDM box was not securely fastened when he examined it. I said still the last people to work on my car was a prior dealership you can look at my service history and it shows that. Again, I said that is not my fault if someone at a dealership messed with it.

So, they look at my service history than said "well, it looks like you paid the last dealership." To complete all the previous work...I said "No, I had a throttle body, ECU, RAS Relay, and some other things all stop working." I have the receipts to prove it. Also, you see how much I am fighting with you about this repair. Do you think I would have paid for all that other work? I also said the prior dealership did not give me any problems working on my car. I feel that you guys are just trying to shaft me out of my warranty.

I did mention the Lemon Law and the second person got very defensive. They said they would fight me to the end. I said go ahead "In Florida my car has to be out of service for 15 days or same problem." My previous service history already probably meets 15 days.

I have no problem paying if in fact the damage was caused by something I did, however, they were just trying to BS out of it.

Well, I no longer live on that side of FL anymore. But, I use to goto South Motors Infiniti in Miami. They never hassled me once and were actually pretty good about working on my car.

Ok, I got my car back and they fixed it and what not. So, if you do live in the Tampa area and you decide to goto Infiniti of Tampa make sure you remove ANY mods. I did read a few bad things on here about that dealership, but I had no choice really since my car died on Dale Mabry.

If you live in the Tampa area, go to Lokey Infiniti in Clearwater. They are a sponsor of the Florida G35 Club, and many Florida owners make the trip to get service done there.
