and welcome to G35Driver...

You should spend some time doing research on those years and 6MT or 5AT... then ask questions once you know a little about the car, because you will get allot of different replies that will just make it hard for you since everyone has their own different opinions.

The G35 is a great car but like all years there are some problems...if you are talking about a coupe. I got my 2003 6mt for $21,500 but it only had 34k miles on it. Since 2003 is the first year some people are weary of them. You cant' go wrong with an 04 because all the kinks after 2003 were worked out. The 2005, you won't be able to find for $20,000 unless you're really lucky plus some of them have bad oil consumption problems. Keep in mind this is all speculative and every car is different, but I would say try to find an 04 for that price and if not, there will be plenty of 03's that support your budget. Good luck and keep us updated...you won't be disappointed w/ a G, just remember to turn off the VDC (traction control).

Honestly the mpg isn't too bad for how powerful the v-6 is. I usually average around 18-20 in the city and around 22-24 on the highway. As for maintenence, the only thing I have had to do so far is an oil change and that was $70 b/c I used full synthetic. I say just try to find something with 50k miles or less for around $18,000-$20,000 and you should be set. As for aftermarket parts you will be tempted like the rest of us because there are just so many out there for these cars. Let me know if you have any other questions.

i love my 04 5at sedan but even w/ the 04's, there are numerous kinks waiting to be discovered. make sure you purchase the extended warranty when you get your ride. i've had a grip of stuff repaired/replaced under factory warranty; i.e. rear sway bar, front toe or camber?, the driver's seat tracks, the trunk dampers, power steering fluid flushed 3 times!

the scheduled maintenance can be pricey if you go through the dealer.

Consumer Reports issue out right now is the annual auto issue. The back section has the trouble spots that they collect from over 1 million cars from all over.

03, 04, and 05 have some issues with brakes and the audio systems. 03 and 04 have some problems with body hardware. Some problems with the power equipment show up in 04 and 05.

Other than those, Gs have been pretty stellar.

Heh, if you are scared then the car isn't for you.. :P Just playing, don't worry bud, the car speaks for itself. Really, when I drive my 03 I feel like a whole new person. And then when I step out, I just want to sit back in and drive again! Anyways, will you be financing or buying in cash? The reason why I'm asking is because I work at a dealership and I can tell you how dealerships **** with you and your money. And I don't want any G35 member to get raped in the *** hard.

If they have a website (obviously they do), give me the link so I can take a look on what you should say. It's plain and simple if you are financing, they will put you at a rate where you are putting money in the financing manager's pocket. To get around that, ask them a simple question: Is this the best rate you guys can put me at? (if they say yes, they can go to jail). They will make up some bull**** like "this is the rate that you were qualified for".. Don't buy the car off the price on the window. They probably got the car for 23 and selling it for 25K. So, if they say okay 23, make sure you aren't being ****ed with the interest rate and all. Also, is it a Infiniti Dealership or a Nissan? By the way, $25K on 15K miles isn't really bad! But just take a look on their website because it's usually what they got it for. And if you do get warranty, get the price they actually sell it for lol, finance manager's rape you with that. Anyways, good luck bro.. That sounds like a good deal to me.. One more thing, where do you live?
