Another use for the car alarm...

Anybody sleep with their car keys next to the bed?

I thought this was going to be about installing a car alarm on your front door, which would also work. Esp, if you're sleeping.

You know if anything honestly ever happened and you were to use your car as an alarm, you might just get an angry neighbor chucking something at your car... robbed house... dented car.. definately not a good day =[

Well, I was thinking for most people a robber, etc. would be a very rare occurrence.
If I had to worry about angry neighbors I would have moved a long time ago.
I think most of my neighbors would be happy somebody unwelcomed was chased away.

haha, yeah that would be great to pass time, just sit at your window with a pair of binoculars looking for suspicious people, and when you find them, hit that panic button and watch them panic and run!

Well obviously if you hear a noise it might well wake you.. or you have outside lights with sensors may be enough to scare someone off at night.
And enough weirdos around doing stuff in broad daylight too.
We are only talking about a rare occurrence here.

Whole idea here is scaring someone off who is either totally stupid, or really thinks no one is home...plus it's something you are already have, and it's free.
That was the only point.

I find the alarm very useful when people are too near your car for comfort when you're at some place to eat and you can see the parkinglot from your window. One time some kid was talking to his friend and LEANING on my car.. I remote started my car and it made him jump like no other

I did that once, when a few kids were hanging near my car at a friend's house. I was about 1/2 block away and could see them from an upstairs window.
Later, when I got home noticed a dent on a quarter panel about the right size for a heel.
At least it was an older SUV not the G....
