I don't know about "much" larger, it must be a perceived spacial thing...or you just need the space in the right places that the Maxima or Altima give () shows difference from same year G35. 2007 models
Maxima:
http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...n-maxima-3.htm
Length:194.4 (+7.4)
Width:71.7 (+1.9)
Height:58.3 (+.5)
Front Head:40.1 (+.6)
Front Leg:43.9 (0)
Rear Head:37.3 (-.4)
Rear Leg:36.5 (+1.8)
Altima:
http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...n-altima-3.htm
Length:189.8 (+2.8)
Width:70.7 (+.9)
Height:57.9 (+.1)
Front Head:40.6 (+.1)
Front Leg:42.2 (-1.7)
Rear Head:36.8 (-.9)
Rear Leg:39.9 (+5.2)
Infiniti:
http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...niti-g35-3.htm
Length:187.0
Width:69.9
Height:57.8
Front Head:40.5
Front Leg:43.9
Rear Head:37.7
Rear Leg:34.7
The Maxima gives another 7.4 inches longer on the exterior while adding nothing negligable (1.8 rear leg) to the interior length.
The Altima adds another 5.7 inches to the rear leg room which is nice.
Either way, they're all good cars, I'm just happier with my G than either of the other two options.

If anything, the G35 shares most of its parts with the 350Z.
At the end of the day, no one should care whether or not people call our G35's a "Nissan with a Tuxedo Suit". You'll usually hear this from ignorant "enthusiasts" who feel the need to put other people down.
It's been said over and over again here, most luxury companies are owned by other "lower" name car companies. If Infiniti is a Nissan with a Tuxedo suit, then lexus is Toyota with a tuxedo suit, Porsche is Volkswagen in a tuxedo suit, Audi is a Volkswagen in a tuxedo suit, etc, etc.
Our cars are Nissan's with a "classy" badge. But that doesn't change anything. Enjoy what we drive...end of story.

And for the dude driving a Volvo it is actually a Fiord. If they are driving a Mercedes ML series (POS), or BMW 3 series you can say someone down south built it. Fine German craftsmanship. And Hondas and Toyotas have many, many plants in North America. Camy V6's with the auto trany just got the black circle of death from Comsumer Reports. I've owned the original 240-Z Datsun, the 300zx Nissan and have never had serious problems. If my G35x is as good, you can call it a Datsun and I would be happy.

Man I haven't checked this thread much and it already grew to 6 pages. I guess I should clarify more.
On other car forums I've heard people refer to G's as rebadged Altimas which isn't the case. I don't care if people call it a rebadged 350Z, and if you want to compare it to a Nissan 350GT, then it isn't really a Nissan in a tuxedo...its just simply a Nissan.
You can't really say a Lexus is a Toyota in a tuxedo unless you're looking at the ES. Most of their cars are very different engineering wise from their Toyota counterparts.
