Infiniti Extended Warranty

I'm the owner of a new 08 G35X.

I've been told that the longest extended warranty that I can get, is 6 year/82K miles, since I drove the car off the lot. If I had wanted the 7 year/100K miles, I had to get that done before I drove the car off the lot.

Which one is true, 6 year/82K miles or 7 year/100k miles?

I think you should be able to get the 7yr 100k as if it were new any time before you reach 6000 on the odometer.

That's what I thought too.

Does anybody have a suggestion of dealers? I called a dealer mentioned on this site and was told I couldn't buy the 7 yr/100K mile warranty.....

I struggled big time here. Just before 30K Infiniti said like 1500 bucks would get me 6 years. Since I may only drive 4-5K miles a year miles are not an issue.
I had to do the math and basically ask if 750 a year would be worth it. Most of the money spent on the G is with wear items based on my research. That 1500 bucks won't cover a dime of that obviously.
In the end I passed on the warranty as it would **** me off to drop 1500 bucks and maybe never use the warranty.
Am I taking a gamble? Yeah, I gamble if I need a dealer repair after July when my factory warranty is gone, I hope it won't be more than a 1500 dollar repair during the next 2 years.

I have always thought that extended warranties are a waste of money. Everything that breaks is never covered and if you get it nothing ever goes wrong. I have been fortunate with my 03 G and never had anything go wrong with it. I struggled over it and took my chance and did not buy it. So far it has paid off. But if anything does break I will work on it on my own or take it to and independent shop. Dealer charges too much for everything. That is just my own opinion though.

I also drive 6-7K a year and now have 25,000 miles on my 04 Coupe. My factory warranty expired 6 months ago and I would only go for an Infiniti Factory warranty. Do they consider your current mileage when pricing and offering you an extended warranty? What can I figure for another 2 years of coverage on my car? Thanks for any imput.

I think I was quoted either 1500 or 1800 at 30K. Pretty sure it was 1500 to bring it 2 years past expiration.

That's where I did the math. 750.00 a year for something maybe never used. Like I said, no wear items like brakes and stuff covered. Where does everyone chew up the cash? Brakes, rotors, tires.

I'm putting on maybe a couple hundred miles a month so I took the gamble and passed.

Do we need a warranty....?

Warranties are like playing poker/dice or any other game of chance. You might
go for years and not have a problem but stub your toe once and it will bite
you in the a$$ big time. Nissan drivetrains are great especially if taken care of, but have you priced the cost of a new trans/engine + install....Ouch! I'd
rather be safe than sorry. My daughter purchased an extended warranty for
her Accra coupe, her trans went out and it paid to have the warranty + !

I got my 7/100k warranty after like 2~3 months of purchasing the car. Also, I bought my car in Arizona, but I ended up getting the warranty in California.

Extended warranty saved my azz several times when I had my 2000 Honda Accord V6 coupe. Although it was only 4AT, the tranny was replaced total of 3 times, engine mounts were replaced 2 times, power seat motor, window actuator, and alternator was also replaced. So yeah, I got hella more than what I paid for.

I took 2005 45000 mile 6MT G35 from a Ford delader and I got 6 year/100000 mile bumper to bumper warranty for 1300$. I dont know whether any body who bought the vehicle from some where else would get the same deal but, this confirms that you could get some good extended warranties even after 2 - 3 years of vehicle purchase. When I called Infiniti dealer for 7/100000 warranty I was told that they could not offer me that since I did not buy the vehicle from them. Hope this helps

I just came back from Infiniti and they quoted me the following for an Infiniti Factory Warranty. I currently have approximately 26,000 miles. My car is 6 months passed the factory bumper to bumper at this time. They quoted me 5YR/60K for $2087 plus tax and for a 4YR/48K for $1623 plus tax. For a little over $400 a year, I'm considering the 4Yr/48K as I do only 6-7K a year anyway. Any repair on our cars averages at least $800+ bucks. I know it's only a matter of time when my radio takes a sh.t and our cars also love window motors and regulators. A/C will require a heart transplant to pay for if there is no warranty. $400 a year does not seem like alot of money for piece of mind and avoiding me having to purchase a new car which I'm not happy about in this present economy.
