Just bought an '04 - whining noise from engine
Hi all, I did a search but didn't see anything related to this
I just bought an 04 G35 as a project car for Nissan Sport Magazine. I am gonna develop brake coolers for it (www.fourproducts.com) anyway, here is my question:
There is a slight whining noise coming from the front of the engine that the company that I purchase the car from has to resolve. At first I thought that it was a power steering pump, but it doesn't change pitch when you shift the wheel - it sounds like that though. A whine. It did get better after I drove it for a little while. It follows engine speed and sounds like it is coming from the front passengers side of the engine.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe

It was a belt tensioner. It was replaced and whine is gone now - thanks for the post.
