"Service Engine Soon", also can't select state w/ factory navigation

I just picked up an '05 G35x today. Love it but when I press the DEST button, the only state in which i can search is California. When I click the STATE button, instead of giving me choices of states, it gives me a box to enter the street name, but does not let me select any letters. I can click LIST in the lower left hand corner, but when I do, "NO DATA" pops up. I have a 2007 disc, version 6.6. I have screenshots, if they will help I can post them. Anyone else experienced this?

Also, the service engine soon light is on. The oil and filter were just changed at Carmax. The car has 21k miles, is there anything I should look for?
Thanks in advance

Hi acr,

I have a '05 G35 Coupe and had the same SES problem. I was told that it could be as simple as making sure the gas cap is fastened tightly. Apparently, the sensor is hairtrigger and can can come on because of a loose cap. I took my car to the dealer and they checked it out and confirmed that it was simply the gas cap. I've recently filled up and made sure the gas cap was tightened and no SES light. Again, this is just one scenario. Just thought I'd share my experience in hopes it might help.
