What gas type do you put on your G35

So my brother said pumping the cheapest gas on your G35 will damage your engine because apparantly you are only suppose to pump premium gas. Is this true?? if i can pump regular gas i will but i don't want to if it will cost me in the future to repair the engine. thanks for the input

premium is always better and recommended dude, just waste the extra 14 cents and take care of your G; She's worth it.

Wish it was only 14 cents. Most places now is 24-30 cents more than regular.

The owner's manual for my 07 coupe says premium, so that's what it gets. That's $.20 more per gallon than the cheap stuff where I live.

Well if you believe that 87 gives you slightly worse gas mileage then 91/3, you might be breaking even at best.

For some reason people using under 91/3 really bothers me - you paid how much for this car? OK, f*cking treat it like it's meant to be treated. If you want to put 87 in a car, buy a civic and call it a day.

91 is recommended, not required. 87 is required.

Z06/STI/EVO/S2K all say 91 Required, 93 recommended.

those loaners you drive are all on 87

i use 91 because of my TS tune, plus i'm runnin' one step colder plugs. On my Wife's G we run mid-grade though... 89, i think.

you should really use premium all the time.
because of the compression ratio of the VQ anything lower than 91 oct may cause pinging. The ECU will retard the timing of the engine to avoid this but you will sacrifice performance/MPG due to the ECU adjustment.
