Brake/VDC Off/SLIP

Notcied on my car that my brake/ vdc off light & slip light are all on at the same time.

Dealer wants $60 to just check out car, says it could be brakes or bad hub?

Anyone know for sure which one it is?

Check your brake fluid. it may be low. If it is fill it up and it should go away. Screw the stealership.

check the brake fluid and see if it fixes it. mine did the same thing so i put some fluid in it and it went away for a little while. then it came back so i took it to the dealer (under warrenty) and they said i had 10%ish or less of my pads left so after they put in new ones it seems to be fixed.

- i am not expert but thats what mine did

Mine was a bad ABS sensor. I'd say take it in for them to check it. If the car is under warranty, then they shouldn't be charging you anything to check it. If it isn't under warranty, $60 for a diagnostic seems a little high to me. I'd check with another dealership. Remember, the Nissan dealerships CAN work on it if they are willing.

+1

My 05 Pathfinder is doing the same thing. I called Nissan because it still has the power train warranty, and Nissan wanted $95 for a diagnostic. They said if the part is under warranty, there's no charge, but if they found the problem and it wasn't under warranty, the fee would apply. They also said if I had it fixed there, the $95 would go towards the bill to fix it.

Took it to my father (a mechanic) and the scan came up the front wheel sensor (ABS). The parts on order ($59.17 for the part), and should be in tomorrow. In the meantime, about 25% of the time my wife goes to hit the brakes, the ABS kicks in. A little scary for her.

Very odd that you were getting all 3 lights with that. I would expect the VDC slip light but that's it. Interesting.
