Infiniti glass is the worst I have ever seen...

I just got a G35 Sedan about 1 month ago. Its got about 2k miles on it now. Im going down the Freeway at about 65-70 and all of the sudden my glass cracks a good foot or more starting from the driver side edge. Now I didnt see any rocks hitting it but if it WERE a rock, it would have been a tiny *** one. In my old car(GTI), I have had many instances where the windshield was hit by rocks much larger and while some may have left some marks, most left the windshield unscathed. I am extremely pissed at the quality of this glass. I spent 40k on a car with ****tier glass than most other cars.....
Time to call insurance...****

Infiniti service department is horrible. She said something must have hit it and they wont cover it. This should be covered by warranty under comprehensive right?

From reading all the horror stories on here, if there is even a millimeter chip along the crack, they will blame it on a rock. It has to be literally seamless for it to be a "stress crack"

Dude you windshield was hit buy a rock and then the crack ran from stress...You can see where the rock hit it right above the paint band on your windshield. I've been doing auto glass for about 10 years and I have maybe changed a handful of Infiniti windshields, The quality is no different form any other automaker they all follow the same D.O.T. standards.

If you have a questions about the installation process and you wanna quiz the installer about his materials PM me...I'll be glad to help

Well, I've also got a couple chips. I saw them happen and I also swear the Infiniti glass is a little more prone than others. Actually, my thoughts were that the aerodynamics of the car make it more susceptible to rock chips. But my chips have not run.

That said... DUDE, you can see where the rock hit it! **** happens, it's not a warranty issue. BUT, most insurance covers windshelds without a deductible. Check with your agent.

The thing is, my 2 previous cars had been hit by rocks far more often and far harder with no consequences. Remember that the first picture is taken with macro so you could imagine how small the chip actually is. Im just dissapointed that it could crack so easily. I've been driving on the same freeways for 7 years and have been put in the same elements w/o no breakage till now.

its not just u homie, ive had pretty decent sized rocks hit my I30 windshield, it just depends on how it hits the window. if the rock hits one point into the window all its energy is concentrated on that one spot, if it hits broad sided it wont do much damage. this happens to all cars, not just you =]

Chips need to be repair ASAP or they will keep growing until they hit the end of the glass with EVERY stress, including temperature change.
