oh and umm the auto isnt really "new" technology...the first automatic that was mass produced was in the 1940 Oldsmobile (wikipedia approved)...

so i guess ill be stuck in traffic with my cluch and not worrie about anything....unless my left foot falls off....
hmmm... I keep reading about this MT beats AT thing

However, I never seem to see it happen at the track when I race them

I second the Vortech s/c. Vortech makes solid products, the V-2 S trim I had on my 5.0 held up perfectly until some homeboy hit and totalled my car. And from what it looks like , people are making 330-400whp/300-350ft/lbs all day long.

But, I know exactly where you're coming from. Right after high school I had my '91 5.0 (and still a closet foxbody fanboy) and would consider it "mildly modded," but one night this frat turd rolled up on me in a WS6 and blew my doors off from a light and then from a roll. After that, I put in overtime, had the S trim on the whip two months later and hunted every F-body in the valley. Drunk/idiot guy ruined that for me about 4 months later.

I say do it. Why not keep up with the EVO crowd? It couldn't totally suck hammering out every guy who pulled up next to you. And 100+ hp/tq for 6,000 or so looks to be the best bang for the buck with reliability considered. You have all the supporting modifications anyway.

Good luck with whatever route you take.

Honestly, I didn't get ****. $4,500, but I parted out $3,000 of it and sold it to a junk yard for 100 bucks. I picked up another one and sold that in a hurry to get my WRX fresh off the truck. I need to bail on this thing so I can get my hands on an G coupe.

...Which will immediately have a Vortech SQ trim supercharger.

I'll do it, if you do it.

Its bull****. I race 6 speeds all day with more mods than me and i will beat them. They will pull after 100 just because of the extra gear...by very very little though.

I haven't lost to a 6spd bolt on G or Z at the track yet and im barely modded.

u are puttin up a decent 1/4 time though.
question- im doing some similar mods, not exactly the same but same idea. was the afc worth it? i'm not real savy on the computer side of things. it had always been my understanding that that amount of mods wouldnt really be affected with an afc, but as i said my understanding could very likely be way wrong. what kinda gains did it get you?

It was a long story, but at the time something was really wrong with the car and it was only putting down around 198WHP. After i had the AFC installed and tuned the car was putting down right around 247WHP. That was just with the intake and exhaust. I have not had the AFC retuned since then (about 2 years ago).
