I just test drove an 06 6MT

I'm new to the G World, and I fell in love with the G35 when they released them in 2003. Prices have come down since the 37 release, and I can finally afford one. I'm picky, and I want a Black/Black 6MT with Nav/Bose/Aero/Prem Pkg's. I originally fell in love with the black '04 on Long Island NY featured on WheelWorld with the 20" Maya STM wheels, gialla grille, and limo tint.

TO MY QUESTION:

I test drove an '06 DG 6MT last night. It has SERIOUS road noise, like I couldnt hear the radio! Also, it felt slower than I expected, I realise the car is heavy, but I expected a bit more punch on the low-end.

Are these things normal?

Any tips for a new future 6MT owner? I know it will be hard finding a Black/Black Loaded 6MT, but I'm still searching.

check the inside tread on the tires, that may be where the road noise is coming from. on an 06, check for service records to see if it has had its engine replaced. if it has, good, if it hasn't, keep an eye on the oil as these engines are known to have severe oil consumption issues. either way, keep an eye on the oil for the first few oil changes to make sure yours is in good shape.

at least you'll still be under warranty with the 06 so you dont have THAT much to really worry about.
