87 sniff sniff
87 sniff sniff
I've always been one to not complain about having to pump 91/93, but due to the shortage of gas the only available gas I've seen were 87 ( aside from a Texaco that had 100, but being a student I can't afford 100 ). Sadly the other day I needed a bit of gas so I pumped 10$ of 87. I felt as if I were feeding my poor baby poison. For the past few days I've refused to drive my G because I didn't want anything less than what she should drink, but this gas crisis is ridiculous. I've been using my gf's 08 accord to get around but now she's running low on gas. How much more of this 87 can my car take in before it shows some changes in performance and then some? And has anyone else had to settle with 87 because of this shortage?
i woudlnt use 87 due to the the increase knocking, using lower octane means a higher chance of pre detination, altought the computer will retard the timing and reduction of perofrmance will insue. Al be it the gas quality is the ****ter and in the long run, using 87 will actualy give you worse mpg and in the end cost you more to fill up on 87 then 91. So, yea not good.

I still can get 91, but hear you on that being like poison.
Just drive mellow on that 87 until you find 91+ again. Wish I could find 100 pump around my parts. What about 50/50 100 and 87? Just a thought.

The G can take 87 octane gas just fine... 93 is recommended not required
EDIT: just noticed you have a 6MT, I don't know if those require 91/93. Maybe you should use octane booster

Mix it in with 100 Octane.
If you want 91, here's the ratios:
4/13 100 octane, 9/13 87 an easier ratio would be a 1:2 ratio 100:87.
For 93 octane, do 6/13 100 octane and 7/13 87. Or more easily, a 1:1 ratio.
