you can contact GTM or Forged and ask them questions about your swap. I think they are the only shops that have done this swap that I know of.

If you spend 5-6 g's on the swap then id trade the G in for a 6mt it would even out the cost well in IMO but of course everyones situation is diffrent.

wrong. a number of shops have done it. there are 4 others besides those super expensive shops that i have heard from that have done it.

here's one random shop that has done it:
Vaness-tuning:

there is also a guy on driver that had this done as well as a custom turbo kit made by a shop in AZ as well (no not powerlab or any big shop)

I believe GTM is going to charge you around $10k for the complete conversion. At those rates, it makes absolutely no sense to do the swap unless you already have a fully built TT setup or something ridiculous.

As the prices of our cars go down in price, I'm hoping the aftermarket scene will get bigger and more diverse, including transmission swaps.

I have an 05 5AT and when I graduate dental school in several years I'm planning to convert my car into a full on track car, including transmission swap.

i'd love to trade my car in for a 6mt but knowing that my car was bought brand NEW, i know my car in and out and always taken good care of it.. my car have low mileage for an '06 (13,000) and i don't beat up the engine so if i were to trade it in for an '06 or 07, it would probably be hard to find one with low mileage, plus i wouldn't know what the previous owner had done to it.. so to be on the safe side, i'd rather do the 6mt swap

hey thanx alot. ill give em a call...im just about done. all i have to do is buy a bcm....i think. everything was swapped and its all back together. first i was running 12 codes, then i had to pull ALL of the harnesses out n i found 3 wires were cut so now i am down to 3 codes. it is U1000 if anyone knows what that is. it is telling me to see service manual.

it ended up costing me about 6k in parts, and i did all the work with my wife in the garage so i saved a good amount of money......

still like to know if anyone on long island or new york has it done, it would be pretty cool to be the 1st :0) As soon as i iron out the last few bugs ill post up pics and help if anyone needs any.
IT IS NOT AS EASY AS EVERYONE MAY THINK!!! the easiest way is to buy a car that was totaled so u can take everything u need out of it. u can pu a totaled G for about 3200$
