Window tint problem. Anyone else have this problem?
I got my windows tinted on my G35 coup. I stayed within the legal limits. I have the Solar 1 type tint. The problem is that any light, headlights, sun reflecting off chrome etc, shows up with a long vertical prism light. For example, a headline would have multi colored, red, green orange etc streaks of light virtically above and below the light source. It shows up mainly in the rear but also when I look in my side mirrors. I took the car in and they said they got rid of most of the prism on the sides (I disagree) and that it is unavoidable for the rear because of the angle of the window and the tint lifting up as it goes over the defroster wires.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is it something I have to accept if I want tinted windows? Is it related to the type of tint? Supposedly the solar 1 is some of the best but I'll take cheap tint if it doesn't have big time prism vertical light halos everywhere.
They said darker tint might minimize the problem but it will still be there and It would be too dark for my taste and illegal in Georgia.
They offered to remove it and refund. I'm trying to decide what to do (and worried about the defroster wires)

Does this happen much?
Is this common to a certain type of tint?
If not, can you recommend a good type? I'd rather have them redo it with a good tint.
Is anyone familiar with Solar 1 tint? Could it be a bad batch?
Also, does anyone know if they'll be able to get it off the back without ruining the defroster wires?
As far as the installation quality, they did a great job and it was a friend of a friend (who gave me a very good price).
I'd like to get a collection of good, knowlegable experiences so I can email it to the place and give them some options to fix it or, at least, reasons to argue against their "it's the nature of the tint" argument.

ive worked in a shop who tinted cars for 3+ years and have yet to see any type of "rainbow" unless you are looking through polarized glass. If i have my polarized raybans on it makes my tint look like you are describing. Could be the same thing?

Closest I can relate to this situation is when I'm wearing polarized sunglasses. I can always see a checkered pattern on my tinted windows when looking through them at the sky. There are some slight colors within the checkered pattern, but seems like your situation is more pronounced. BTW I have 18%, not sure what brand or type of tint...it's just dark.
