I don't know.....it looks pretty tacky to me. And plus mine didn't have this so I'm pretty sure you don't have to have it on there.

I'm not crazy about the look of it either but if you end up with a bunch of rock chips it will look even worse, and about the only way to get rid of them is to repaint. If you get the leftover wax out from around the edges it won't look so bad.

if its the was buildup on the edges youre concerned with, a detail brush will pull that right out of there. i wouldnt pull them off

hey dude it's called 3M you put the stuff on to save on rock chips....we use it u here in canada alot....by the way get it detailed it'll look alot bedda ....cheers from canada

I have something like that on my Harley Davidson in spots where the paint could get scratched. Its to protect the finish.

Do it and show us some before and afters....no wait....take video!

But really, OP, the thing that car needs (and has been said numerous times before) is a GOOD detail job. You may not like the film right now but after that car gets a good treatment you may change your mind.

Also, don't have this dealer detail the car before you buy it. If they think THAT is teflon tape then they are just plain stupid and shouldn't even be trusted to do detail work to a car.

LOL!!!!!!! Ya'll are funny! I will definitely be getting it detailed!!!! That is, if I decide to go with this one. I like detailing (or learning how to on) my car. Its therapeutic.

yea i don't really like the look of it either - but i have it too. i noticed it today and i thought it was a scratch but then i looked closer and it was the exact thing ur talking about

That's clear bra material to reduce rock chips around your wheel wells. You should also have it at both door entries just before the kick panels. These are OEM pieces installed by Infiniti.

Its 3m clear flim and is a good thing to have..

But the paint on the G does look bad so it seems to stand out a bit more.
