took off badges messed up the paint, paint shop wants 600 to paint my trunk lid anybody know paint shops in sac. area that do touch up .thanks. steve b

 

$600, sounds pretty high. How did you mess up the paint? When I took mine off, the removal was pretty simple.

 

the adhesive was hard to get off took some cleaner and messed it up

 

hehehe, let me guess u used some paint thinner didn't u?

 

Get some goo gone and let it sit for a couple of minutes after spraying. Then use a damp cloth to remove the adhesive.

i say hit up a good maycco for the trunk, but why did you use paint thinner? or check with some local carwash detailers they might be able to buff out any scratchs or know a good cheaper painter.

 

like an idiot i used brake cleaner . the quote for paint is from macco in sacramento .600

 

600 just for the trunk wow, out here in chicago its 800 for the whole car, they did my grand national touch up and had repainted a civic i owned so they do a good job, just look around for estimates, how much is your insurance deductible thats always another option

 

defiantely check around cause 600 is defiantely to high just for the trunk

 

It prob includes blending of the side panels as well.


Without seeing the actual quote, or the actual paint damage it's hard to judge.

 

Hey Buhda G where did you get you paint work done in chicago? I need to get my front bumper repainted but I dont want to pay a lot. Hard with money these days you know lol
