2003 g35
hey guys im new to this forum and wanted to ask you experienced g owners a few questions.
I bought my g about three days ago. it is a 2003 g35 coupe with 63000 miles.
my main question is what are the things i should be looking for as to any problems it might have? i know that a percentage of g's have an oil consumption problem.
And i had one of my friends look at it who is pretty much a mechanic and he noticed that the back tire is different from the other three. it is the exact same style but it doesnt dip in like the other three rims , i could deal with that but the main problem is that the tires are different sizes in the bvack and he said it could mess up my rear differential.
so please tell me wat u guys think. thank you

Your rear tires should definitely be the same. Even if it doesn't mess up your differential, it affects handling and makes your car unsafe. G35's use a viscous LSD in the back, so different rolling diameter wheels will cause it to build up heat. I don't know if that will cause it to fail though, I'm not super familiar with the LSD's as my car doesn't have one.
If you skim the forums for problems people report, you'll find that radio failures come up a lot, but keep in mind that people almost never post "hey, my radio's working fine!", so even though that problem, and others like oil consumption, come up somewhat often, it doesn't mean that a lot of people are seeing these failures, it's just that those who did are looking for help. Until you know whether your car burns or leaks oil, check it often and top off as necessary. From what I recall, the oil problems started after the 2003 model year on the revup engines, so you should be fine.
Get those tires fixed and enjoy the car, it's a very nice one.
