...Wait a minute!?
...Wait a minute!?
So, this being my first real post on the forums, I figured I would bring a relatively amusing experience to the table. Here we go...
So the other day I was driving my G to a friend's house so we could go grab some lunch on our day off. It was raining at the time, and I was pulling up to an intersection behind a local PD cruiser. My brake pads need to be replaced, so I ended up getting a little closer to his cruiser than I should have. Out of no where, the officer flips his lights on, rolls down his window and signals for me to pull over around the corner. Maybe he wants to give me a ticket for following too closely...that's what I thought at least. Once I had pulled around the corner, he steps out of his car and makes his way toward my car, I ask, "what's the problem officer?" He says, "Did you know you hit me?"
WTF?! I proceeded to explain to him I was sitting still, closer than I should have been to him, but sitting still no less. He claimed to have felt a bump which I didn't even remotely feel. He proceeded to explain to me the three hours of paperwork I have bestowed upon him. After explaining my side of the story to the three other officers at the scene, I was issued a ticket for failure to control speed. After it was all over I picked my friend up and came to the conclusion I should go back and snap a few pictures of the cruiser for my own benefit.
Below are the pictures I took of the cruiser and my G.
Analyze them carefully.

This will take you to a larger version.
If you look closely at the pictures, you notice that the marks on the cruiser's bumper are sporadic and separated. My bumper is flawless. Even if I had let my foot of the brake slightly, I was close enough that I would have been under 1MPH if/when I hit him. There is no way the bumper on the G35 could cause widespread paint scuffs like the ones on the police cruiser. Also take into consideration that there is a paint scuff on top of the bumper as well, the charger sits approximately 4 inches higher than the g35 coupe, there is no possible way my bumper could have touched the top of his bumper causing the paint damage that resides there. My car would have had to bump his, then move move quite a bit more while still in contact with his in order to cause said damage.
Everything considered, I think the officer is trying to cover his *** on something he backed into. I just want to know what some of you guys deduct from the pictures and explanation. I'm pretty sure I can get this case thrown out by the judge in under a minute, but if you guys can think of any other tidbits to help me out, I'd greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks a lot.

smae thing happen to me but not with PD >< anyway i was backing up and out of no where this ****** came out and said i hit him ,my bumper had no damage and his left door was smashed up lol....so we call security and exchange license/paperwork etc... 2weeks later took my car in for the insurance place to take pictures and measure it was no way in hell my car could have done that....he was trying to get paid from his insurance for being a dumbass that he is...
take all the pictures to court with you, make sure your camera has the date and time they were taken. then get the height of your bumper and the height of his. but yes a lawyer is needed but with that picture evidence it doesnt take Einstein to see you werent the cause for those marks.

By those pics it's inconclusive. I'd def get a date on the photo of your bumper to prove you didn't repaint it quickly in order to avoid the ticket. Put today's newspaper up to it and snap photos up close and high res.
Just stick to your story and fight it saying you never touched him, there is no damage to your car and it would be nearly impossible for you to scratch up his bumper without damaging yours.
Also, see if oyu can find a charger and pull up behind it and take a photo from the side and point out the scratch marks on the officers bumper and see if it aligns with anything on your car that could even reach it.
