im confused, is the G37 faster than the G35?
iirc the stock G35 is like 14.3 1/4 mile and the G37 is 14.0 flat, perfect condition testing for both so yeah it's a little quicker.
The extra HP from the VHR doesn't math out as that much quicker so it's probably mostly gearing with the 7AT.
What I like about the quickness of this platform is it's fast enough to be fun but not so fast that it's an immediate ticket getter. A really perfect balance of power, fun, luxury, and handling.

My experience with the G37 loaner from the dealer was that when rolling at interstate speeds, the G37 is NOTICABLY faster when you goose the hamsters, as in a pedal-to-the-floor passing situation.
But the G35 has much much better road feel. The G37 felt really disconnected. Drive by wire. I didn't like it much at all.

G37 is faster
So I have a g37s sedan and 370z sport tech. Used to own 03 G35 sedan with z midpipe, kn filter and z intake tube. Despite all that the 3.7 is faster. It's more refined so the sensation of speed is different. The 370z is more connected and punchy. I have a hard time not speeding. Yet the sedan is more refined in it's manners and the acceleration is more wave like. At high speed I feel more comfortable in the G37. The z is very stiff, so at high speed it's bouncy to the point of distraction. The visibility is bad so you feel like you might be missing the cops hiding around. 6'4, 300 plus and it's hard to get in and out of, and I don't take it on trips beyond an hour or so due to lack of space. Having said that it is a striking car, that I always stare at. I even stare at other people's Z. I love it for it's looks most of all, performance 2nd. Sorry I digressed, the G35 was good but would run out of steam at higher RPMs. The G37 pulls harder after 60 mph.
Catalytic converter issue
Guys sorry for being off topic, but in my g35 sedan I don't have catalytic converters last owner scrapped it coz it went bad, I just want to know will it effect my fuel consumption for not having catalytic converter?

All 3 platforms have their good and bad, the DE G has an amazing looking chassis but a noisy engine, the DE Z looks mehh but really FEELS like a sports car, the HR Z is imo the best of the Z cars, the HR G is a good balance of luxury and sport, the VHR G doesn't feel like a sport car anymore but has some amazing luxury feel, the VHR Z feels almost "futuristic" and is an excellent driving experience.
Can't wait to get behind one of the new Z cars and I pray they use the same 6MT on the red sport Q60 because that might be the best feeling sports car Nissan ever made and it looks excellent.
No it won't.

I'm honestly surprised people are trying to debunk ANYTHING that's a 13 or 14 second 1/4 lol. On this platform you will probably shave close to a half second off with ONLY drag radials (and good track prep) so it's definitely possible to break into a 13 second slip on a completely bone stock G35 with a good 60' time. A G37 will definitely be into high 13 with proper tires even with bad track prep, heck even with the spare tire still in the car
Again though, arguing about a 13 or 14 second time... seems like a complete waste of energy but some people just gotta fight about silly stuff.

I'm more concerned with trap speed, a real world indicator of how fast a vehicle is. It will be interesting to see how many mph increase will happen after the full exhaust, intakes, and tune will yield over the stock ~100 mph.
stock 2005 350Z 5at 276lbs torque and 280hp... versus 2006 G35 6MT with the HR rev up
0 to 15 mph Z car was definitely quicker out of the hole, but he G35 has way more pull from 3000 to 7,000 RPM... But the rev up engine only has 260 lb of torque but just over 300 horsepower so that makes sense... Honestly I would say it comes down to the driver at the end of the day... Z car was obviously better through the corners but much harder to get in and out of and less comfortable on long trips... But I believe what everybody before me said to be true you just have to know how to drive either way
