I can't get MP3 CD's to play for the life of me...

i use itunes and select mp3 and it works.. although I think the data cd would work better to hold more, and i don't think itunes will burn an mp3 cd with songs that aren't mp3, but I think you can data any songs you want and only the mp3 will show the song info in the car, but they will all burn (correct me if I'm wrong)

Okay, let's just make this pretty basic and clear:
MP3 CDs = MP3 File format burned into a data CD.
Music CD = Music disc, this is the type of CD you can buy at a local Best Buy and listen in your car.
In order to burn a data CD and play it in MP3 enabled cars:
1. It can be burnt on ANY CD burning software that is capable of creating a data CD. Please used a CLOSED SESSION or finalized burning option, and if you want to be safe, use the slowest CD speed available.
2. From my experience, the optimal load time is to place all MP3 files into groups of 19 - 22 mp3s in one file.
3. The INFINITI MP3 Head ONLY plays mp3s with 192 KBPS rates or LOWER. If you have any songs that are over the 192 KBPS rate (such as 193 KBPS), then the CD player WILL NOT READ THE CD.
4. The CD player uses a very SIMPLE and rudimentary file tree access system. You can use a file tree, however, the CD player will play every file in that tree in the ascending order. So there is no selection menu, but you can skip entire FILE groups by holding the skip song button on your steering wheel.
Summary:
1. Burn a DATA CD
2. Group the MP3 files into groups of 19 - 22 songs in one file folder.
3. Make sure all the MP3 files are at a rate of 192 KBPS or lower.

Closed Session data CD with MP3s in Individual folders (18 - 22 songs) at 192 KBPS max. Use a converter to convert all MP3s that are above the 192 KBPS.
So basically you're going to have a CD that has multiple folders that allows the data trees to be utilized. Don't dump all your songs onto one CD.

I wonder if thats the problem with mine, i have mp3 cd's that i made for my cobalt and they all played fine with mixes of 192 128 320 258 etc. all on 1 disc. the g35 plays store bought discs fine but my mp3's it starts playing a song then it will stop then start again then it will skip discs all together. Im set to get a new HU next week but maybe thats not neccesary.
