yup i have them 20% all round and the legal limit is 35%, cops are pretty relaxed here in el paso texas tho

 

Its 35 here too and Ive been going 15 on all my cars for years. Plan on doing 5 on the g this sat. Oh, and to answer your question, yes 35 will look good... 15 would look even betta!

 

Keep in mind if you put 50% tint on a window, it will be darker due to the tint of the glass.


G35 window with no tint at all comes up 78% on a tint meter. (i own a meter)

50% film on a G35 is ~ 39% VLT

35% film is 27% VLT

20% film is 16% VLT

15% film is 12% VLT

5% Limo is 3.9% VLT

Double Limo (yes some guys here do this) is 0.001% VLT and i dunno how you see out your back window like this

SO to stay legal, you'd need to slap 64% film on there to put you at 50% VLT. I dunno if anyone makes a 64%, but there is 70% tint which would give you 54% and make you legal if you are worried


Here's my black '06 with 35% film (27% actual). The law in MA is 35% total so i'm 8% illegal. I've been fine for 6 months with it. My car is stock otherwise and i'm not in my early 20's so the cops leave me alone. If there was no law, 20% film would be the darkest i would go. I had 5% on a car before and couldn't see jack backing up. The G35 has some of the smallest side mirrors of any car i've driven so i can only imagine how tough it would be to back out of a dark driveway in a deep suburb with no street lighting. I would need HID's in my reverse lights!

 

Do not get 50% tint! It's a waste of $200. because during a sunny day you will not even be able tell if it's tinted. Even some 35% tinted cars look like they are not tinted on a really sunny day.

I had 35% last summer ( i think it was 50% bcus it looked so light and now i have 35% again from a dif place this looks a little darker) and i just got sick of how light it was and got 15%. Even 15% was too dark and i had trouble seeing at night and went down to 20%, it was great, i can see out, but too dark for NY so got 35% again and this time it's perfect. Looks so eligent and IMO the perfect shade for a luxery car.
