I need your RIM ADVICE!

What up guys!
so i have a 2004 OB G35 with Stock 18 OEM'S
I want to keep the stock rims and paint them black.
My friends were saying we should do flat black, but i kind of want a little gloss to it. Also i thought about doing Time attack lip thing but i wasn't sure. If i went with the TA i wanted to get a unique color like a nice blue or something.
anyways if you guys could give me some advice as to what color, what brand, or a GREAT DIY to fixing up rims ,and your advice on a Blue Lip.

thanks a lot !

Semi-Gloss Black Paint is what you need. Take your time on them.

DO something like this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-x-...Q5fAccessories

Don't go flat. It cheapens the look and makes it look like you spray painted the wheel (which i guess you are)

Definitely add a clear coat on top to give the wheels a shine, but i don't think you'll ever be able to give them that "hypercoated" look with anything from a rattle can.

Honestly, i'm considering purchasing the above wheels

man better get your flame suit on. these g drivers are very touchy when it come to painting your stock wheels. but seriously tho, black is played out, try something like dark gray.

if you want a little gloss to it, but considering flat try a satin black. Not quite flat with a little shimmer to it.

Sedan or Coupe? If you have the coupe 18's and you try to do TA it's going to come out pretty crappy looking. There's really no lip on the coupe 18's to be adding any sort of TA... I would suggest just going with a dark gray and adding some clear coat (like others are saying).

Or I would just not paint the wheels at all because it's going to end up chipping away anyway and wait until I could afford some good aftermarket wheels.

Why? Kinda hard to keep with that completely black thing with silver lips.

ok so i like dark grey and gunmetal but i havnt seen it on a OB coupe.
im most likely going to go with a semi - gloss but i really wanted to add T/A i think it looks sick but yeah i know what you mean they have no lip, i might just save up to by aftermarket rims. i dont have a lot of money so thats a problem.

Man I feel you....I'm lucky to just have to car. I can't afford 4g's to dump on rims. Thats why I powder coated mine. Just do what you want its your car and on here you will get a lot of different opinions, but when it comes down to it you gotta live with it.
