Why did this happend? :(

I was on the new jersey Turnpike last night doing about a buck twenty when I smelled something burning.

I stop to inspect under the hood but everything seemed ok.
I wasnt until this morning when I noticed this huge hole on the wheel well.
Apparently the wheel well came off from the bumper and was rubbing against the tire.
And as a result, well...heres the pic

Probably because you were going so fast the pressure from the wind was pushing it against the wheel. Is that an aftermarket bumper with larger openings in the front? That could be letting to much air pass through and make the problem worse. The simple fix is to not drive so fast. Especially someplace like the Turnpike where there are a million cops.

OMG! When you hit that kid, it must have pushed your wheel lining back.

What's next....?

Bad idea letting your son stand on your KurumaZ bumper, allow this kinda behavior and next he'll be doing a tap dance on your hood.... My son and daughter were never allowed to climb on or eat in any of our cars, that's called respect.

The wheel well cover was destroyed because the fasteners came undone, did you remove them to install headlight bulbs?

It's a good thing you had that kid holding down your hood! If he hadn't maybe your hood might have flown away with all that wind too. LOL!

You might want to place the clips back on the other wheel well before you get a hole in that one too.
