Recommendation for repair shop(san diego)

Do you guys have any recommendations for a good and honest repair shop in San Diego? I need my rear brakes replaced on my '08 G35 sedan. Kearny Mesa Infiniti wanted $325 including parts and labor. I would do it myself, but I live in an apartment now and there's no where to do it. Thanks for your help.

Actually $325 parts and labor isn't that bad really.

PM this guy Gdup35sedan, he did all my suspension work, changed spark plugs, all in the comfort of my garage. Brakes shouldn't be a prob for him. After that I would suggest http://importautospecialists.net/ cheaper than dealer but still certified in all the areas.

I acutally found a handful of places. JC infiniti repair, Wolf Foreign Repair, Convoy Auto repair, and the last one was Import Auto Specialists. All these places sounded competent, but I didn't know anyone who actually had experiences with any of these repair shops. I just want a place who will actually do the work correctly, but don't want to get ripped off at the dealer. Thanks for the input.

Import Auto Specialists were very professional, they had no problem taking me into the maintenance bay to point out or translate what repairs they were doing. I had a very positive experience as well as my friend who took his 3 series in for repair.

I called Pacific Nissan and asked for a price quote. The service dept. guy quoted me $200 for labor alone, but couldn't quote me a price for parts. He said he didn't know whether or not the parts number for an Infiniti would cross over into a Nissan or vise versa. Thus, he couldn't give me a price quote on parts until I found out.

Why not try it yourself in a parking lot? Rotors and pads is fairly easy. Just do once side at a time, remove the caliper, swap the rotors and then replace the pads an dput the caliper back on.

I did my fronts 2 weekends ago and it was maybe 30 mins each side total.

Even if you prefer to pay them, a brake job is pretty easy. The shop would have to be pretty incompetant to screw up brakes
