And McLaren23...The Genesis is 7 years newer and it shows. It bests the G37 in handling, and almost matches it in acceleration, both 0-60, and 0-100. The G35 can not even compare on a performance level to the Genesis 3.8. If I was on a 25k budget, it would be a no brainer for me between a used almost out of warranty, or out of warranty, G35 or a new Genesis with a 10 year warranty. Even compared to the G37, if performance is what you are looking for. it is the way to go. A true limited slip, 4 pot brakes front and back, lighter and more agile. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people think the Genesis looks better than the Infiniti. And once again....G series cars will never be classics.

I never said it was the best car in the world. And any half-brained retard knows that performance isn't just about what engine a car has. That's just for tards like you that like to talk about horsepower all day.

A Noble m600 has a Volvo engine in it. For the E36 BMW used a similar engine in their sedans.

They had 7 years and I'm talking about the G35. G37 imo isn't the prettiest car and still performs similar to its older sibling. On a 13k budget my car has 4/2 pot brakes, it's only 70lbs heavier, and even with a 100k mi on it it's still just as fast as a Genesis. I do have to admit from the reviews the Genesis is supposed to be the better handling car. But keep in mind they did have an extra seven years. The G37, idk what what happened. I guess they were going for a more grown up car.

At the end of the day, performance wise, Genesis>G35. For the money, it's a hard car to beat. They are doing to Infiniti what Infiniti has been trying to do to BMW, which is offer 95% of the driving experience for 2/3s the price. They got it together. The Genesis Sedan is even more impressive for the money. Hyundai has really stepped up their game. It's what is needed to keep the auto industry competitive. For the younger crowd, it's a great car, and even though on paper the two compare (Genesis and G37) being 2+2 coupes, V6, RWD, I don't think the demographic is the same for the two vehicles. G37 crowds would generally be a little bit older than the Genesis crowd I assume.

It's a widely accepted fact that what you drive is a direct reflection of who you are. This is the basis for Hyundai's success. Over the years Hyundai has taken the most desirable elements of the upscale market and produced knockoffs for thousands less. This was the case with the Genesis Coupe. It is a direct knockoff of the G35 Coupe. Which car was available first and proved to be wildely successful. Yes, that would be the 2003 G35. There are a few people that seem to think that the fact that the Infiniti is based on Nissans is somehow undesireable. That is actually the only reason I bought the G35. I had always wanted a Z car and the G35 being a 350 Z underneath but, being able to carry more stuff and with a back seat was just what I was looking for. The original 240Z was a very popular car and throughout the original product cycle the z cars were very desirable. They also accomplished a great sports car racing history.

If you take a close look at each individual Hyundai model you will find an upscale model it mimics. Yes, it will be thousands less will look similar and offer similar performance. There's also a widely accepted fact that you only get what you pay for. In order to produce a lower cost vechicle you must cut costs on the quality of parts and materials used. That's just a fact. Take a look at the posts on this forum where people are changing their exhausts, dropping their cars, buying wheels. The suggestions from fellow forum members are always save up until you can afford the quality name parts. The same goes for cars. If you think there aren't problems with Hyundai's go to and read the Hyundai forums.

Yes, both the 350 Z and the first gen G35 stand a very good chance of becoming classics. When they were first released there was nothing like them available. Watch the tv auctions and check out the models that become classics.

What new or innovative things have the G35 or the 350z done for the automotive world? Nothing at all. They may have a loyal fan base of owners, but you will never see anyone who has a collection of classic or rare cars salivating over a G35 or a 350z. Nothing special about them, what so ever.

Do you have a crystal ball or something? The Stang was nothing more than a mass produced working mans sports car in 1965. Is it a classic?
I'm not suggest the G will ever be a 'Classic' but i wouldn't presume to know what a cars status will be 30, 40 or 50 years down the road. Who knows.

While I said prior the G35 and Genesis are performance equals, the G has a level of refinement that the Genesis does not.

That drives the older crowd to side with the G, more often than not even when they may know deep down the Genesis outperforms it.

All depends on what you want from life.

We can strap a 50hp motor to a skateboard and blow the doors of a G or Genesis. If we can hold on that is. I don't care which is quicker. It doesn't make the skateboard more reliable or better quality, LONG TERM. 'Initial quality' means nothing.
We have owners age 18 to 80 on this forum. Age means nothing when it comes to cars we like.
Generally the people on a G forum..want a G. Go figure.

They were a rebirth of the 240Z which in the day of competing with Triumph Roadsters, TR6, MGB's, became an icon. They made two sexy, performance coupes. One a little sportier the Z and one the luxary, performance model the G35. The auto press were describing the G35 coupe as the prettiest coupe being made. Different people collect different types of cars and there will be a market for these cars. The very fact that you don't realize shows a lack of understanding of the collectabiles market. I take it you don't own a 350Z or a 2003 G35. All the early 240z's and later, the Triumphs, MGB's Austin Healeys, Morgans, Mini Coopers(original) are now quite collectable. It won't happen quickly and they won't be at Pebble Beach but there will be a collectible market for them.
