So, I went to Thunderhill again this weekend and drove my Elise quite hard. I was running in the advanced group and pushing my car quite hard through turns running R-compound comp tires, and I was shocked to see a G35 coupe catching up to me! Wow, that guy was fast. I had to let him pass since his G was faster than my freaking Lotus. I talked to the driver briefly and it's a 2004 coupe with suspension and brake upgrades running on full slicks. The other driver is clearly better than I am, but I was truly blown away by what an older G35 can do.

Good to hear :-D

I didn't feel like arguing before but the elise I was running with was pretty quick, the driver graduated that weekend to the advanced group, but yeah I have 2-way coilovers, running a lot of camber, 14" brakes, all the bracing, a reflash and about 200 lbs of weight savings and the elise looked like it just had tires.

btw, I'm coming to Thunderhill for the first time for the 25 hr in a couple weeks, looking forward to seeing the track.

Oh, it's a very fun track and it's very safe with tons of runout everywhere, it's hard to damage your car, unless you're a fool. If you're driving on the track, I'm sure you will find turns 5 and 9 very "fun" . Good luck.
