trashed my front tires in 5k miles

Sunday I got under the G to change the oil and the transmission fluid and the first thing that popped out at me was that there was a busted band showing threads on the drivers side tire and the passenger side was bald on the inside as well.
I'm like WTF!
The next day I drive to Big Ten tires and have it aligned. They told me the obvious, that they can't adjust the Camber but the TOE was WAY out.
Here are the from spec now and before.

Funny thing is, I never suspected that it was so TOED in. It drove perfectly straight.

Needless to say I have new tires coming in the mail tomorrow and hopefully my tires will hold out until then.

It's a damn shame that my tires are Brand new on the outter 90% of the tire but the inner 1" is trashed.

cut the tire in half across and use it as your mountain bike tire...that's what i wouldn't do.

Tire prices have been inching up for the past 3 years due to the cost of oil. Less than 6 months ago I paid $1800 for a set of Michelin PS2, if the price continues to go up my next set will be Toyos....

I have a friend who just threw brand new toyo proxes on his car.. Got an alignment.. The guy who did the alignment ****ed up so bad that the insides of his tires were roasted in only 800 miles.

This time, it isnt about the price of oil. its about the impending tariff on cheap chinese made tires being imported. because of that, manufacturers around the world have to make more tires to compensate for the lack of tires coming from china into the US. and at this time, world tire factories outside of China are ill-equipped to meet demand. therefor, prices of tires will increase in the US.

G owners will be less hard hit as most tires from China are the walmart sold dinky (think 175/65/14) generic branded passenger car all seasons. Higher-end performance brands will see less of an impact as production capacity will be affected relatively less.

As for increasing prices....tell me about it! I've noticed the price of tires going up around 3-4% per year.

On a totally unrelated note I saw a cool article about this thing called inflation and that it was 3.8% last year. Whatever that means.

Your tires were actually toed out on the left, not toed in. Don't ask me why on toe, (-) means out. Yeah, that toe was jacked up bad. Toed out badly on the left and toed in badly on the right. Those tires were hating life.

yeah the Gs have a very sporty tuned suspension hence why they wear through tires faster than other cars. but the toe out problem is what kills the tires on these cars so it is HIGHLY recommended to do alignments when new tires are installed or abnormal wear/pull is noticed. factory total toe specs up front for the Gs are .08.......the more corrective fix to help with the wear and feathering of the front tires....we set the toe to around .16 total toe.

Yea, my right side was at .15, they said spec was .05, left side was .08 and spec was supposed to be .05. Both are .05 now I believe.
