That was my primary concern as well. I don't have the time (or patience) to deal with something like that coming up and at the moment can't afford a lot of out of pocket expenses.
I agree, in these tough economic times the last thing you need is headache and hassle trying to get your vehicle repaired or fighting for reimbursement. I'd let the body shop deal with the insurance directly since they're already experienced in dealing with them anyway. Insurance company will likely try to take advantage of you and screw you any way they can.
...but if I don't find one I'll go with the insurance company's since they will warranty that work for the life of the car and will work with me on some aftermarket parts.
That lifetime warranty is a selling tool, but it doesn't mean that they'll do a good job or that the shop is good. I'd definitely continue to shop for a well recommended shop.
Unfortunately the nearest Infiniti dealership is in Raleigh about an hour and a half away and with crap hanging off the front end, highway driving is out of the question.
Wherever you choose to get it repaired, ask the body shop if they'll arrange to have it transported for free. The car doesn't look safely driveable anyway, but no matter what the insurance company should cover transport and the body shop will seek to get reimbursed by the insurance company.
Bummer to hear about your damage. Hopefully it'll get resolved quickly.
