Do you have a better idea?

I'am talking about my trunk. I want to remove it to install a CF trunk everywhere I search everyone does it the easy way, What I mean by that is when you remove it you can just unscrew the dampers and voila it comes off only problem is that I need the dampers along with the bracket on top of it. This bracket has what I believe are 6 star screws two on each side I've tried the 6 star bit on my drill and it's only stripping it so I was wondering if anyone has an easier way of removing this I'd appreciate the help

I have highlighted the screws in orange..

Curry, just checked my star bits and I don't have one that's going to work either. Drop by your local auto parts store or Sears and buy the whole set that way you'll never have this issue again....of course you may never need them again. That's kinda the way it is with most of my specialty tools. I have a 1/2"/9/16" wrench for adjusting the valves on a Ford that I only used once....perfect example.

^ Thanks Gary, I have the bit it just seems really really stuck on there sort of like if it was welded on which I don't think is the case.I know I can buy the replacement screws at Riverside Infiniti in case they get too striped. But I'll just drop by sears see what they got. If I do buy something I'll just use it then return it since I won't be needing it again lol

You should be able to replace it with a standard hex nut, as I doubt the torx nut has unique threads on it.
