I've been to a few track events in the past and I've seen several twin turbo G's hitting low 13's. I have never seen a G hit 12's. I don't attend these track events anymore so maybe things have changed.

But a twin turbo G hitting low 13's.. That is pretty sad. Our car is just too heavy. Period..

Without a doubt, far too heavy. Those prochargers I am referring to are mainly Zs, but I'll try and find the one G on here that ran a 12.9 (I think) with a procharger and slicks.

Then again, you have to take temp and elevation into consideration. That can be a half a second deciding factor.

Even the gutted Zs (BBS350Z has one) nothing in it that's comfy, but still on stock body panels and stock glass. I think he weighed in at 2800ish? Once he gets the glass out and CF panels and hatch then I think he might be around 2650?? Then with basic bolt ons, final drive and pulleys it will probably make some alright times.

You need to go FI to get into the 12s
I've seen full used supercharger/turbo kits go for $3,500. If you know how to do ALL the work yourself, you'd just be spending $3,500.

Granted, they're used, but still...and even $6,000-$7,000 new isn't just terrible for a full turbo kit. My next ride, '97 NSX-T, turbo-kits run pretty much the same. Although with the NSX, it doesn't weigh 4200lbs either.

I don't know what you guys are talking about, as saying this car is slow. I have been driving 1/2 ton pick ups my whole life, and recently decided to buy a car. I consider this car a luxury sports sedan with more emphasis on the luxury. But to me, this thing is pretty damn quick. Remember where i'm coming from though.

In comparison to others in its price range, it is not slow. It is not designed to be a dragster. It is not a sports car. To me if I was going to race a car, unless there was some reason due to class I would build from scratch with an emphasis on weight and power. I would not start with something that weighs in the upper 3k lbs. and try to power its way to success.

If you want something in the 4s for 0-60 probably a vette is your best bang for the buck there, but you will give up some other things in the process.
Agree. I don't understand when people say this car is slow. In comparison to what?! A true sports car?

In comparison to other 300HP cars, this thing is a slug.

^^^ your car is not 300hp... compare it to other 260-280 6 cylinder cars.

Let's be realistic here people. This 6 cylinder semi luxury sports car is not intended to compete with an 8 cylinder sports car.

If you want to compare apples to apples - tell me/us what car in the G35 class out-performs it. Keep price, engine size and luxury comparable.

I'll give you a hint - there aren't any.

Ok lets be realistic, pick a car with 240HP

I am speaking in general the performance end of the G35 is the 05+ 6mt with the revup 298hp.

you have an 03... your car is rated at 260 (which is really 280).

What other 6 cylinder NA car beats it?

The G35 coupe is slower than the G35 Sedan.

We can go to an either further extreme and compare to an STI, 4 cylinder and kills it. EVO as well.

Lets not forget this clip of a S2k with i/h/e beating a G at every single run.
dead stop, 15mph roll, 25mph roll, 45mph roll, etc etc.. An S2k, just an inline 4, 2.2liters beat a V6, 3.5 liter G35.
