It really depends on what you are looking for in the car. If you need the space and functionality, get a sedan. If you want a car that looks amazingly cool for the price get a coupe.

Coupe + tint, rims, minor drop, clear corners, debadge, gialla grille = sexyness to the max.

I'm not hating, but I'm curious as to how often you sedan guys actually have people in the back seats.

Arguing which ones's better is pointless since we all bought our coupes or sedans because it suited us best. I'm 23 and don't really have the need for back seats and 4 doors, just need a passenger seat for girls haha. But having the back seats in the coupe is nice, just incase I need to take more people.

I haul my daughter around so there's a car seat in back of my sedan.

But hands down, the G coupe was a STUNNING design in 2003 and still is a very good looking car today. There is a reason why Hyundai copied the coupe design so much.

I find the sedan was design very unique too but it's not nearly as striking. But again, a very good looking car and very different than the boxy BMW it competes against.

I hate to admit it, but stock for stock or even both tastefully modded, the coupe wins on looks (though my wife disagrees). But my car is my DD and does regular family-hauling duty so it has to have four doors and a usable trunk.

Sedan guys are lucky, though, because coupe/350z parts bolt on so if we don't necessarily have to go aftermarket to make our cars look sexy and sound/handle better on the cheap!

-Coupes ALWAYS looks better!!! That applies to any vehicle. I admire you for defending your four door sedan, but the coupe looks 100x better than the sedan. I would be kicking myself too, if I got the sedan. I feel your pain.
What pain are you referring too?

I'm 6ft 165lbs and in the back seat of my buddies coupe I felt like ****. I would much rather be in the back seat of a sedan. Useless is an overstatement I suppose, but they are not comfy in the least bit. The trunk on the other hand.....

My original intent was to buy the 350z, because it's low, sporty, quick, 2 seater and has that race car feel cockpit. The G coupe... doesn't have any of that and shares the same cockpit as the sedan. So I decided I would pick the quicker of the two and make the G sedan something of my own. Which it now is

I'm not going to argue an opinion with you because you like red(coupes) and I like blue(sedans) That's just dumb and will never get anywhere.

Coupes don't always look better, but you sacrificed something(speed) to have a car that makes you look like you own a fast car. So, I guess I feel you pain?

This 42 year old (with 4 kids) disagrees with you

BTW as for the differences, nobody mentioned the exhaust. I drove both when looking and the sound of the coupe alone is worth it IMO. Probably is the reason for the difference in HP.

I would probably, next go around, look at the sedans again once my son starts driving. I do miss the practicality (just sold my Magnum R/T), had to use my company car (Matrix) to bring all the kids to a party a couple of weeks ago when my wife (with our Oddessy) was out of town.

Yeah, my best friend is 6ft tall and he barely fits in the back. He hates my rear seats. My wife and mom though ( wife = 5.5 and mom = 5.2 ) think the rear is okay....though still not exactly comfortable.

My wife has a sedan so all is good.

All the fricken time! One of the main reasons i had to roll my fenders when i got my 19s. I have a lot of friends, so when we go places, we gotta take multiple vehicles. I usually drive because i dont trust half my friends driving anything, and i just feel like driving!

I have had 6 or 7 people in my car on 2 occasions. Of course, thats before i lowered it.

Not that often really. I use my rear seats for my laptop, groceries, packages, etc...more than actual people. The sedan's rear doors open 90 degrees to the car, so it's very easy to put things in the rear seat. I love having the rear doors more for this than actual people. Usually, in terms of people...it's just me and my g/f. Once in a while i have to take some customers out to lucnh at work, but more often than not, my rear seat stays empty.

If the sedan had folding rear seats, it would be even more practical. But instead we have the reclining rear seats which are more of a novelty than anything. I tell my passengers about them and they ohh and ahh over them for 2 mins...and then completely forget about it. I'd rather have a fold down rear seat.

But like i said, i got my sedan because it was the only model with AWD at the time. Was the #1 reason. Since owning it, i would only buy a coupe...if i already had a sedan in the driveway. To me, the coupe would be my weekend car. I'd get a red '07 6MT with Navi and ultra low miles and leave it in the garage. And i'd mod this one too, unlike my sedan which i leave stock. Unfortunately, i already have a weekend car (Mustang)...in addition to a Lexus IS250...so i can't get another coupe.

But there isn't a difference in HP.

Early sedans did have a 260HP rating, but the later sedans got the same rating as the coupe. 280HP with the 5AT and 298 with the 6MT.

2005+ sedans also got a better exhaust ( which makes sense for the power output )...no one has any PROOF that the 260hp sedans are indeed just as powerful as the 280hp coupes. It's only 20hp ( which translates to about 15whp or so ) so it's kinda hard to prove anything since dyno's range more than that from car to car so I get that this is a touchy subject. t just makes no sense to me that the same engine with a near silent exhaust will make the same power as the one with a pretty loud one. Even though the mufflers flow well, sound reduction by means of a muffler/resonator causes turbulence and thus restriction...they is no way around it. But then again, sedans a lighter so they should be pretty much even ( which from what I've read, they seem to be just that ).

I know that my 2003 5AT sedan was slowish ( I ran a 15.0@92mph stock and put down 206whp ) and with exhaust mods and spacer alone added over 35whp ( 242whp to be exact ) and ran a 14.3@98mph. I also felt my coupe to be a little quicker bone stock then my sedan was when it was bone stock...but never got the chance to race both of them together stock.

In the end, whether there IS or ISN'T a hp difference, performance is not a concern for the sedan.

LOL OMG LIKE SEDAN BUTTSEX's COUPE YA?!?!

why dont you learn how to type at least a bit more properly and try not to make an idiot of yourself and say that a sedan is going to smoke a coupe. there is a slight difference in weight but that is not nearly enough to not make it a driver's race.

heavily modded sedans are sexier than heavily modded coupes??? .... k.

I have to get me one of those spacers.

I went 14.6 @ 93MPH stock in my '06 X. I prob could have gone a tenth quicker had I not had a full tank of gas, my 50 pound tool box and a full size spare in the trunk. Mine's is a fully loaded model too with the NAV and sunroof, so that adds a little weight as well. But anyway not bad for a stock heavy AWD sedan
