Oh, you gonna go there. I corrected some spelling errors and added the TSX comments, but I ALREADY had that in there. I'm contacting an attorney. Please make yourself available. You thought you had sleeping problems before, it's on now.
The point they are doing this is so they can compete with other companies such as BMW with their turbo sedans. Not because we are complaining about. So there is a very good point to make it for them. They are advancing there technologies once again and competitiveness.
^Not nearly as much as the IS250 cheapens the IS350 though. The BMWs and Mercs are slightly more immune to this though simply because they're German and expensive to own. IOW, a cheap G is going to attract people in the "Altima" part of the market, a 328i doesn't. Now if the G25 has enough power to still be quick, enough price to keep out the riff-raff, and the same build quality as other G's then I'm all for it. My point is that "Slow" and "Cheap" should be kept out of the Infiniti lineup. It's one of the few brands left in the world to have rid itself of that.
i agree with nfsp1.. there needs to be somewhat of a "brand appeal" and creating a sub $30k car, i am guessing ithe g25 would be, is not the direction that infiniti needs to be in..
Acura is already known as the "cheap & entry" level luxury car. Infiniti is thin line above it.. let's not drop it..

^That's the point I was trying to make. Why make Infinitis cheep? That's what the Nissan badge is for. I think a RWD 2.5 V6 coupe would be a fantastic replacement for the Altima coupe. Maybe add a turbo option

No offense (don't you love when people say this?) but I think some of you are overstating the actual "status" and "image" of the G35. While I do not understand why someone would want a G25, IS250, or 328i, I do not see how they degrade the models' images. Make no mistake, the G is an entry-level luxury car just as the 3-series, A4, IS/ES, and TSX/TL are to the other luxury brands.
What would you think if the M and FX only came in the V8 models, and then Infiniti decided to offer the 3.5L V6 as well? Would that degrade the M and FX?

But what if, as is the case with the M and FX, a V6 and V8 are simultaneously offered? Multiple engine choices does not degrade a car's image.
I think this is just another example of people not liking change.

^I get what you're saying, however, the M and FX are not entry level, the G sedan is. IOW, the cheapest Infiniti you can buy new is a G35... add a G25 to the lineup, and you're lowering the bar for Infiniti ownership. I'm not saying they shouldn't bring it over here, I'm just saying maybe it would be better as a really nice Nissan, either to replace the Altima or in addition to it. It would still sell good as a Nissan, and the money in sales would go to the same company.
But my opionion (and for that matter any of ours) makes little difference. Nissan is going to do what Nissan is going to do, and I'm not going to get worked up about it either way.
I am excited about the forthcoming changes in the M lineup though
