G25 Coming Soon?

I wasn't sure how I felt about this, but if the engine is done right, I don't think it will cheapen the G series. As someone else mentioned, the Audi 2.0T is a great engine, making 200 HP and 207 TQ. If they can put a smaller V6 in the G that makes similar or better numbers, say 225 HP/215 TQ, that's not really changing the fundamental concept behind Infiniti. The old BMW 3.0 inline 6 made numbers like that, and it's also a great engine. I just don't want to see something overly weak, like 190 HP and 175 TQ in the G. That will definitely cheapen the lineup. If they're going to go that route, then create a new vehicle below the G35/37, like the old G20 or a small wagon like the A3. Something that will compete with the TSX/328/A3, but keep it RWD. Otherwise it's a glorified Nissan.
Not sure where you got this info, but it's not accurate. The current Accord has 271 HP and 254 TQ, both of which are lower than what an 05 G35 puts out (280/270), and nowhere close to the current G37's (328/270). As far as "features", you'll have to quantify that nebulous statement because there doesn't appear to be any "feature" offered on an Accord that isn't offered on a G37.

The current V6 Accord has better 5-60, 30-50, 50-70, and 0-100 times. In fact, they will pull on a G sedan from a roll. 0-60 should be obvious given the FWD layout. The same can be said about a V6 Altima, V6 Maxima, V6 Camry, etc.
The first gen G's technology is obviously dated. I would hope current generation cars can offer more. DVD nav vs current nav systems. Voice Recognition. Bluetooth. Aux/Ipod/usb. Superior traction control (and we all hate 1st generation VDC).
Oh, and lets not forget that these "economy" cars get better MPG and attain more power with regular fuel.
The badge snobbery by the second generation of G owners saddens me. They bought the car because it was a great value, and then go down the route that BMW owners are known for. Almost makes me glad that I no longer have my first gen G.

This is in comparison with a 1st generation G sedan which has 260 hp at the crank. Dyno tests have repeatedly shown that the different "factory" rating has not changed the VQ's output, unless you have a rev-up refreshed sedan.

G25 is not a bad idea. But the body would have to be much lighter to allow for better power to weight ratio. Get the rear ratio's right as well and you can have a great car to rival the TSX and 328i's of the world. Engine options are not a bad thing ya know. Though, I do like my displacement currently, though MPG's blows. Oh well.

Also, the 2003 Accord has a touch screen Navigation screen. Infiniti didn't even have the touch screen til early 2007... 4 years after.
