3 years in japan
def would part the car and return to stock and sell it if you can. 3 years you can come back and pick up a g for cheap or go with something newer. put fair to cheap prices on the parts and they will be gone within a week. you can sell the car within 2 months as well.
Man, a decent R34 GT-R still isn't cheap...you're still going to be shelling out over $30K for a so-so condition one, and let me tell you, they are NOT cheap to maintain! Add to the fact he won't be able to take it back or get his money back out of it, not fiscally responsible. A better bang for the buck would be a '92+ Toyota Soarer (Lexus SC 300) with the 1JZGTE & 5-speed. You can pick one up for less than $5K, it's cheap to mod, engine is bulletproof, and if he wants to he can swap parts back with him on a stateside car...

Sell it now, go there and buy something cheap you only intend on keeping for 3 years. Then sell it and come back here and buy yourself something nice with all the cash you saved.
