No he's talking about resetting the ECU and then running to car to allow the ECU to pick up on the new crap he put on..
And yes, you should reset the ecu. Not sure how to do it on this car.
But on my S2k, I had to remove the ECU fuse for 10 mins. Then let the car run on idle for another 10 min with everything off. (AC, RADIO, Heater, whatever). Making sure I dont rev the car.. Then turn off the car and that was it.
It's a little more complicated on the G35. And I don't think you have to let the car sit on idle for 10min after the ECU reset. You just drive it?

Not sure on the reset, but your spacer should have come with instructions. If I remember, I unplugged the negative cable, then pressed the brake pedal 3 or 4 times to dissipate the caps. But you should think about a tune. Spacer and intake upgrades can be handled by a reset/idle learn, but adding the cat back starts changing things a little more radically. You won't really be optimized until you get a tune.
