need a fast (accurate) answer about tires

I was gonna rotate my tires but the back two are beyond gone

Im gonna get 4 news ones and am kinda on a budget so...

I currently have 225/45/18s

would 225/40/18s be safe?

the guy at tire rack said it would be dangerous, but I read the reviews for the same tire and there are 50 people with G35s who say they are good tires.

I realize the side wall will be a little shorter

any input?

A much better idea is to run 245/45X18s on all four corners, the 225s are too small/short and will mess with your speedometer. Hope you're not buying cheap azz tires. Remember, "Your life may depend on what's between you and the road!"

225/40R18 is Way to small for the G35. You need either run the stock size or run a 245/40R18.

how much cheaper could it possibly be? 100 bucks difference? Fork it over and get it done right.

GoodYear tires aren't bad and that's a great price, buy 4 that size and you're home safely....

You'll learn everything you want on sizes compared to oem and it can show tires for what you select. I think Tire Rack has a similar calculator.
