Anyone ever have this issue?

So I got the kenstyle rear from AIT, my bodyshop gets it painted and was going to deliver it to me. They noticed the paint was lifting. So as they were going to repaint it, they said the fiberglass was actually seperating from the gelcoat... So now we are trying to get AIT to replace it...

Has anyone had a body part do this to them?

Ouch....! That's never happned to me thank GOD! Maybe you should just get your $ back from AIT and look else where for a bumper. That
rear bumper really doesn't look good anymore with all the other choices we have now.

We will see, I think the term for this is called delamination. We are weighing our options, more than likely it looks like they will replace it. Im not sure what other bumper I would choose. I want something thats not too close to OEM.

Got it resolved. AIT is refunding me half my money back and it will cover the cost of having my bodyshop going back in to use bondo as an adhesive to fill in the gaps.

The manufacturing is cheap quality. Fiberglass is fiberglass. It was 400 shipped so not too bad. AIT admitted it happens from time to time. Its just a pain you have to deal with using FRP etc.

In your case more than likely the prep was bad, or you had contamination.
