New guy, G35 Exaust Help

Hey guys, my names Shaun. I own a 2003 Mustang GT with a Vortech V1 supercharger. DIY Front mount intercooler, 3.33 pulley. Exhaust, intake, gears etcc... I just finished the install and getting it dyno tuned on Saturday. Im expecting around 370-405rwhp.

Anyways, one of my friends has a G35 he has a Nismo intake on it. Hes ordering Stillen test pipes, and a Borla catback. I told him Id do the install for him for some money. Anyways, is there anything I should know? Like doing a midpipe for the Mustang is a pain in the *** because of the exhaust manifold studs.

Do I need O2 extenders? Are the test pipes relativley easy to do? Anything I should know about? Pain in the *** bolts? Catback seems easy enough. And roughly, how much rwhp would he have with a Nismo intake, stillen test pipes, and borla catback?

I love the G35's and 350Z's, and want to learn more about them. Thanks guys - Shaun

Exhaust is pretty basic. 2 bolts on the muffler to the midpipe and 2 bots from mide pipe to y-pipe and 4 bolts up top to remove the y pipe if needed. Test pipes will most likely need an antifowler attached where the 02 sensors go so they dont throw a code. As far as removing the test pipes there are 3 bolts to the headers. 2 facing down towards the y-pipe and one facing up. The one thing you'll need is a bunch of extenders to reach that bolt from the top. I removed and installed my exhaust on jack stands in about 2 hours. With a lift it should take no more than 45 minutes.

Awesome thanks for the info man! Ill be doing it with ramps/jack stands too.

Im alittle confused though, how does the exhaust go? Exhaust manifold (or stock headers) test pipes, y pipe, catback? Like I said, Im totally new to these. Im 19, I had a ****ty 1989 Camaro V8 (hated it) and then bought my Mustang about 18 months ago. Like my car goes, exhaust manifold, stock h pipe then catback. I can change the H pipe to an off road H pipe (no cats) or an X Pipe with high flow cats or no cats. Heres a video of my dyno with just exhaust and intake:

Thanks again for the help

A little liquid wrench comes in handy on the bolts if their rusted. Hit em a day before you begin. Air tools are always a plus!
