just wondering
i usually put gas in within 25 miles after the low fuel light turns on... ran out of gas one time and a girl i was seeing (works at my local infiniti dealer
) came and picked me up to get gas... it was a good feeler to see how low the fuel needle goes before it's completely empty in the event i'm really desperate

Mine counts down to maybe 30 miles at the least....then it changes to -- and i'm left guessing.
I did own a Lincoln that went down to single digits...although i never got it less than 9 Miles to Empty..so no idea how low it would go and how accurate it is.
You don't want to go that low anyway. That's when you start sucking crap off the bottom of the tank. And since the G35's fuel filter is not replacable (at least not easily), that's something you def don't want to do. WHen i get around 1/4 tank...i go to gas station..but usually i try not to stay under 1/2 tank too long.

It's not a sensor. It's a fuel computer from the OBD II. It calculates fuel consumption and with an algorithm calculates distance to empty. Continuously variable. Not something easily installed.
