Pep Boys Rotor

Hi I was thinking about purchasing rotors from Pep Boys. Has anyone ever have any experience with their rotors and how are they? Thanks.

for everyday driving they will be fine

of course if you pay a little more you get more performance. But if you are just an everyday driver they will be fine.

You get what you pay for (quality of metals and heat treatment makes a big difference), but like said...fine for a everyday driver. I wouldnt go autoXing on them

How much do they cost compared with OEM rotors?

Pep Boys quality vs your life....? Your kidding, right?

Pep Boys is not a place I'd buy rotors from, your life depends on how well your G35 stops. You'd be much better off buying OE rotors from Tony at Riverside Infiniti 800-913-3130. I wouldn't even buy wiper blades from Pep Boys let alone something as important as brakes! I hope common sense prevails here....

I dont see why people bash stores like pep boys/auto zone/ oreillys

the parts they sell are good products.

Sure you can get better parts if you are racing/autocross/tracking it. But for everyday driving, these stores stock good product.

pep boys also sells like $20 tires, would you use them?? the only think i usually purchase at pep boys is oil, filters and wipers if im there and need them. def would not trust them with anything else. I once tried to have them install some shocks on my dad's saturn sedan an the service advisor said they didn't have anyone QUALIFIED to do work like that.

Auto zone is different, they sell good products.

ive used their tires in the past on different vehicles and they work fine.

The majority of tire customers do not spent $300 per tire.

Installation is another thing. It only takes one bad installer to make the entire company look bad. If pep boys was really that bad, they wouldn't be in the install businesses. Are they all pros, no.

Pepboys sells bosch and rayasbestos breaks and rotors. Both decent to good brands. As stated above, most people dont spend a ton of money on brakes either. How many cars do you see with upgraded rotors and calipers on a daily basis?

Im not saying cheap out and get the lowest line, but the items they sell all have to pass multiple safety standards.

Not a bad idea unless you have brembos! Infiniti wanted $560 ish per front, and $509 per rear! Thats $2138 for new OEM rotors!

Bottom line there are a ton of places for us to access good quality parts if someone is willing to look around. I bought a set F/R of Hawk Hps pads for my 05 and paid ~$85 shipped and spent the monster sum of $225 shipped for 4 Centric premium rotors.

Took a little searching but was well worth my time.

One time deal? Could you elaborate? I need all four rotors and pads. I've been shopping around for a deal. How do those compare to OEM?

I've used Autozone cheapo Duralast pads and rotors on my beater forever. They're good for daily driving. They don't last long though...

Hey- Pepboys sell RainX wipers. These are top of the line according to Consumer Reports. I have them and they have lasted longer than any other blades I've had.
But I wouldn't shop there for brakes or other critical parts.

For the pads, I PM'd several vendors in the vendor classifieds and asked their best price for the Hawks. Several indicated they would beat the best price I was quoted and in the end I paid less than $90.

For the rotors I scoured the web and found a great deal through Amazon from a company called Stockwise Auto. Contacted them and ordered the Centric rotors which IMO are better than the stock rotors. So for a little over $300 I had a full replacement set of pads and rotors that I installed myself.

I love the internet!!
