so i lost my car keys...
whats the best route to get another one made?
Dealership the only way?

about 300 dollars just for the key, that happened to me once too =/ im pretty sure its only through dealer too..

1. go to ebay buy a key ~$10-20
2. call a locksmith, have them cut and program it, $ depends on locksmith, but probably ~$50, the car has to be there because these are transponder keys, they can probably come to you and make it for a higher price.
3. test it

wish i waited
-$60 for a tow truck
-nissan 1st charged 144.99
-later got a call, ended up charging me $215

I needed a spare key awhile back and yes, locksmith charged me $50 to make & program. Also bought a couple of remotes on ebay for cheap. You can easily program those yourself.

bought my 08g in february, only had one I-key. bought a remote and blank key off ebay for $35 (checked to make sure it was the proper key) and then called around to 2 infiniti and 2 nissan dealerships and 10 minutes, before i found one nissan dealer who cut and program my key for $50. i was a bit lucky i guess.
this forum was a great help in leading me to an efficient solution.
