whistling from the doorjam?

Hey everyone

just wondering if anyone has ran into an issue with their doors making a whistling noise at higher speeds.

i notice it when i cross over about 45mph and it just gets progressively louder the faster I go (duh)

I had my brother ride shotgun and he said it sounded like it was coming from the passenger door up in the corner where the speaker sail is located, was wondering if this was a known issue on our cars or if I should just try getting new weather stripping on the door and see if that doesn't fix the problem...

Thanks for your time,

Tom

I have the same problem although my g is an 03. I believe it is the weather stripping around the back corner/edge of the window. Try putting some padding behind the weather stripping. But, I would be careful to add a little at a time as you don't want to interfere with the window operation just get a better seal between the weatherstripping and the glass.

I have the same issue... I'm fairly sure my window is just a little off track and doesn't line up to the weather stripping to create the seal. It's really annoying, but now that it's warm out I just always have my windows partially down anyway.

well as a follow up, when I roll the window down on the passenger side I do hear a sort of groan/creak as the window goes down, maybe the motor's going and not pushing the window flush to the weather stripping?

Had the problem on the driver's door (it was near the b pillar right near my ear) and the dealer replaced the entire driver's door weatherstripping which fixed the issue.

I think I'am starting to have the same problem on my 05. I was going around 70-75 today and I could hear a noise coming from my driver side door and it was sort of a rattle/whistle. Very annoying but I will be checking it out next weekend when I get a chance. Granted it only does that when I am driving at high speeds which isn't too often it's still something I'd like to get fixed.

well they taped off every seam on the passenger side, and it's still making the whistle..

when I folded the mirror in, the whistling became much quieter, so it might just be air moving around the mirror which sucks!

I have this issue. Ever since my passenger front window got broken and I got a new window put in (twice).. the issue hasn't gone away. And just like you it's at 45 mph and above.
