G35 vs. G37

I've been trying to be convinced that I really like the 37, but I just can't.
I've been to the dealership like 4 times looking at it, just trying to make myself like it, but I just don't have the same kind of wow factor from the g35. I really think infinity fked up on styling. Don't get me wrong it's a nice car, but IMO it kinda blends with other cars in the road. The 35, even though it's getting old and common, still has incredible lines.
Granted the 37 is faster, nicer interior, newer, good nav, and all. But for now I'm sticking w the 35. Hopefully Infinity will come out with something in the next couple of years that will make me change my mind... cuz my G is turning 6 real soon lol.
Ps. G37 onwers please don't take my comments as offensive. Its just my .02

The G37 may have more HP, but it has a bigger waist also. The G35 is still a little bit faster. With two bone stock the G35 will pull on the G37 every time, hit some twisties and bye bye G37, bigger is not always better. If I could have the G35 with the G37 interior, this is the perfect compromise. Also, like I have seen a few ppl say, the G37 just "blends" in with other cars, where as the G35 stands out, and continues to stand out on its own for now. The only thing that may stand out even close to as much as the G35 is the new Toyota AE-86(think this is what they are calling it) car. Last but not least, I think we should REPO your INFINITI, you can not drive what you can not spell.
I had a base G37 loaner for three weeks that I took to the track twice.
Bottom line, our BONE STOCK G37 was quicker in a straight line than my bolt on and tuned G35. The times speak for itself. Faster E.T.'s and faster trap speeds for the G37.
Since it was a base model with crappy 17" all season crap tires, the G35 handled way better and was more responsive with WAY less understeer.

So I totally see the difference in the two cars. The G35 is a gorgeous, raw, drivers car. You must be a "real driver" to enjoy this car. For the G37, it is a normal run of the mill looking car, that has aesthetics to please the everyday person. With a little of the G35's looks and power to try and please the G35 owners to upgrade. But as many of the drivers have spoken, there is no pleasing the G35 owners with this body style. Why did the G get the longer less edgy approach when the Z got the shorter wider more bada$$ approach. Had they taken the G37 the same way they took the 370Z, all us G35 owners would have creamed our draws. What happened is Nissan as a whole needed to attract other buyer to the Infiniti Market and decided they could get the old G35 owners on the new Z. I would go with the 370Z over the G37.

No offense but these two cars look nothing alike. Not even the overall shapes are that similar. The Toyota is much more chisled with creases along the sides and look at the rocker panels, hood, front end. The G37 has a much more elegant softer look. No creases on the sides, simple smooth rocker panels. Overall just a far better looking car. I'm not a G37 fan so I'm not biased. Just my opinion.

Well seeing that Infiniti doesn't make a 3.9 liter engine, im hoping they shove the 5.6 L they have in the QX and the M into the next gen G coupe. G56 coupe FTMFW!!!

I prefer the smaller, sports-car-like proportions of the G35. With mods, competes well with a similar-year M3.
W/the G37, I would NEVER compare it to an M3. Two totally diff. philosophies now. Nissan wants sports car lovers to get the 370Z; GT/cruiser lovers to get the G37.
Before, the G35 was very sports-car like and had too many advantages over the 350z.
$50k on a new G37...it BETTER have nicer interior and ride better an accelerate faster than a bone stock G35.

I think the G series is too small of a car for them to want to cram a v-8 in there. They'll probably just up the displacement and hopefully throw in a supercharger/turbo like the bmw/audi's....
