Back when I was 15 (had just gotten my permit) my dad threw me the keys to the G and told me to drive home. I'll never forget that drive. lmao.

All it takes is practice. Even now I think back to how scared I was. Just relax and it will come to you.

Best time to practice is late at night with very little traffic. The hills are the worse. I sometimes still use my ebrake on hills when idiots follow too damn close.

G is my first mt too. I live in SF, 90% of the roads in here is uphill or downhill. After about a week, i thought i was getting a pretty good hang of it and decided to take it out on traffic. Man the moment you see a huge stacked on cars in your rear view mirror and you are the first one at stoplight on an inclined road, things changed a....bit .
My advice to you is dont be afraid of stalling man. It is what it is, just smiling at the driver next to you.

I have to say that the manual transmission in the G's aren't the smoothest in the world but i guess they aren't the worst either.. You will be ok.. Like everyone else said practice, practice, practice. Also, work on your upshifts before you start working on your downshifting thats a whole other process. The more you do it, the more you won't even have to think about it anymore.. +1 on the e-brake on hills. It seems I have the worst luck with people trying to kiss my a@@ at lights..

my first m/t was/is my '55 ford f-100... if you can get used to where the engagement point is, then you'll be fine... just use the e-brake until you can start moving if on a steep hill

Haha I had to laugh at this! Man, I just got an 05 6mt a few days ago, and it's my first time driving manual and that is EXACTLY how I felt when I took it out in traffic

Still haven't mastered the hills yet though, (damn high engagement point has me sweating )

I have a Carbonetic triple plate clutch...its pretty easy to drive. You should be fine with your ACT. Don't worry man! Just enjoy it, have fun, and be safe!

Hahaha!!! That makes me remember when I first got my G a long time ago. I was already good at driving manual, but the engagement point threw me off too. You get used to it though.
