You need to think about using a better filter than a Fram. They're junk, and are probably the worst filter on the market.

The second guy has a series of vids showing various brands. And pretty much nobody "changes" their oil, they do a drain and fill.

I had a 1953 Ford NAA tractor like that. Had it ten years and never changed the oil or filter, just add to it. Just kept running.

And it's not advisable to go back to dino oil after using synthetic, thought you like to know!
Wrong. Dead wrong.

Please don't go giving people completely and totally erroneous information such as saying that once you try synth you can't go back to dino and also things like one brand of oil will not have much more of its volume consumed than another brand. These things you wrote are simply not true.

had a Honda 550-4 back in the day, didn't drip a drop of oil. I changed to Amsoil and it leaked out of every gasket on the bike.

I think with a decent synthetic oil/filter <7500 is nothing to cry about.. pretty sure oils these days can last over 10k miles w no problem..

i use GC with M1 filter (i change my own oil.. )

Again.. i don't drive my car hard at all.. still get 25+ mpg (mostly city).. i even made a post saying that my car is a retard and can't even chirp its tires.

p.s. i always top off my oil though.. (every month or so..) ... supposedly it replenishes the additivesssssss

What some members think they know about oils in this thread LOL!!

Anyway back on topic....

06 Revup:
Factory original = 1qt/2300mi.

Revup TSB replacement = .75 qt/5000 mi (a lot of that gets collected in my catch can btw)

This is a bold statement (common theme in the forum) -- wondering if you could enlighten us as I'm no expert, with some details.

Your buddy should know not to run synthetic on the rotary and they burn oil regardless. Most run Royal Purple as it doesn't burn as much. Although my FD oil consumption is half a quart per 3500 miles, FD owners should always monitor their oil level else BOOM.

It would be at the lower mark or the "add" mark on most dipsticks.

+1

1 quart low would be the bottom of the dipstick where L is assuming you were full at the top of the range
