buying used with no local dealer ?

I'm new to the forum, and currently considering a used G35 Coupe, maybe years 2004-2007 to get a reasonable price.

I'm ~100 miles from an Infiniti dealer. How much of a concern should this be...?

I assume that my potential purchase will likely be out of warranty, and realize that the need for dealer assistance will be somewhat unpredictable.

Should the lack of a local dealer steer me away from a G...?

Also, any pointers specific to the G35 on what to look for when buying used?

Thanks for any assistance.

It shouldn't matter if the car is out of warranty. A nissan dealer can do everything a infiniti dealer does for less money.

G35x sedan
I just bought a 2008 G35x. It was about 28K. I love it!

I got it without a certified Infiniti dealer. I got the balance of factory warranty and I also got an extended warranty out to 100K.

look at these guys. www.coasttocoastimports.com
i'm a newb but the grille seems to be an issue.
i've spent a lot of time:
claying
ultimate compounding
cleaner waxing
finish waxing

When you find one you like, take the VIN # and call an Infiniti dealerand ask them to pull service history and check in service date. That will give you a sense of dealer maintenance and if there is any warrantee left! Good luck!

Thanks for the replies.

I suppose I'm uncertain on how much a dealer might eventually be needed, especially considering that it would be a major inconvenience to take the car to a dealer for any Infiniti-specific repairs. If a Nissan dealer can handle most stuff, I should be okay (I guess...).

Were there any particular year models that got significant upgrades (such as engine)...?

Any year models that tend to be more problematic?

Thanks again.

The only thing I can see becoming an issue is recall work, if necessary. That would need to be done by the dealer.

If the car is out of warranty being far from a dealer is probably a good thing, since you won't be tempted to take it there for routine problems and maintenance and pay through the nose for it.
