Average cost for an Oil change?

I was just wondering on average what most of you guys pay for an oil change? What type of oil do you put in it? How often do you do it?

Thanks!

Bring your own oil and filter, and the shop should do it for about $15.

I used Royal Purple for a while, recently switched to Pennzoil Platinum. Change every 3-5k miles or 6 months. Usually the 6 months comes first since I don't drive my car a lot.

The Infiniti dealership charges $45 for regular oil changes.

I now do them myself for about $30.. Using Castro Syntec and PureOne oil filters..

The good thing about taking it to the dealership is gives your car a nice service record.

Usually buy my synthetic oil and filter for about $30 bucks when they have specials at Pepboys or autozone. Then have a shop change it for $5-10. My last oil change I got Mobile 1 extended performance w/ M1 filter for $30.

do most shops give you any hassle for bringing in your own oil/filter? I just feel like they would...do you go to mom and pop places or chain places to have it done?

Most chain places charge $20. But mom and pop places are more flexible w/ the price.
