I used duplicolor caliper spray paint that you can get at auto zone.

My prep consisited of washing the brakes with simple green, spraying down with brake cleaner and then 2-3 coats.

I did the rotors and caliper support brackets off the car, and hung the calipers in the well, masked and painted there. I let dry for an hour and reassembled the brakes.

Took a couple hours but worth it.

The same thing happens in the "what oil should I use?" threads. Those go on for over 20+ pages.

If I had an extra $5K, I'd leave the G the way it is ( because it doesn't need Brembos ), and spend it on something else haha. I need some 5 lug Watanabes for the Z.

Sorry for the threadjack. Proceed.

As far as the rust on the rotors you can just spray paint them with duplicolor high temp paint. I've read threads where they don't do any masking and just rely on the brake pads to remove the overspray. I personally would at least do a rough mask...you can clearly see where the pads grip. You don't have to be totally accurate because the brake bads will give you a perfect circle. I just don't like the idea of getting too much paint on the pads.

I found that tends to leave a jagged line when yup just let the pads clear the paint.

I use a roll of electrical tape. It will tape off curves easily.

to the people that say brembo ftw the ironic part is that the 06 brakes bite more than the oem brembos :X

The Brembos do look nice and they do provide exceptional braking power but they are also stupidly expensive. The fake brembo plastic overlays don't sound like a good idea besides anybody with a clue could tell they are not Brembo because of the size of the caliper and rotors.

I would paint the stock ones, get better quality rotors and use better brake pads such as Hawk HPS or if your rich and money is no problem go out and get a big brake kit. Tire rack has some very nice brake kits but they are not reasonably priced.

And yet it continues lol.

No one cares about people's opinion of Brembos in this thread. Answer the guy's question.
