VQ35DE, If you have an 03-04 MT/AT and 05-07 AT gives off a lot of vibrations and harsh sounds at high rpm.

I'll admit, when I first got the car I was hesitant to take it over 5k lol.

You have to remember it's a chain driven engine vs a belt drive, which will tend to be louder than most engines. I agree it is kind of harsh sounding but I'd gladly take the extra noise and never have to shell out buku bucks to replace a timing belt. If it really bothers you just slap an exhaust on that bish and it will drown out all engine noise... lol

Anyone have a sound clip? I don't think timing chains are that loud.

You might have to shell out buku bucks to replace a timing chain though. They do wear out at some point as well.

Same for a snapped belt.

Chains supposed to be good for like 250,000 miles. I'll take that over a 60,000 mile belt.

^ not so much, chains snap and takes a lot with it, belts snap and the car isn't too hurt, you'll replace more when a chain snaps than when a belt goes.

Belts also give you a warning (fraying and noise) chains don't, they just snap.
